The term TDI (therapeutic donor insemination) refers to the use of semen donated by voluntary donors. These donor samples are available through several sperm bank agencies in Canada.
Health Canada regulates the screening process to ensure that a high standard is maintained by these agencies and that all semen samples are thoroughly screening and all documentation is available.
ONE Fertility Kitchener Waterloo currently works 3 of the top agencies within Ontario. Each agency has a large selection of donors, which allows patients to choose their donor based on physical attributes, physiologic characteristics (i.e. blood type), and cultural background.
Patients are able to purchase their samples and have them shipped and stored at ONE Fertility for their treatment.
